Manufacturing accountants in Dubai do five jobs for a factory owner. They record import VAT and reverse-charge entries correctly, keep stock and work-in-progress records that match the books, support zero-rated export sales with evidence, handle goods that move in and out of designated zones, and file VAT and Corporate Tax on time. The Accountants Factory does all five at a fixed price, agreed in advance and set by your monthly transaction volume. Every package carries Zero Penalty Assurance, in writing.
What do manufacturing accountants in Dubai actually do?
A trading company buys and sells. A manufacturer buys raw material, spends money turning it into something else, holds it half-finished for weeks, and then sells it locally or abroad. Each of those steps leaves a trail that the FTA can ask to see, and each one can be booked wrongly. A good accountant for a factory keeps that trail clean from the first purchase order to the last export invoice.
In practice the monthly work looks like this: we take your purchase invoices, supplier bills, customs documents, sales invoices and bank statements, post them into your books, reconcile the bank, check the VAT on every line, and send you a clear quarterly Profit & Loss. We work in Tally in house, or in your own Odoo, Zoho, Xero or QuickBooks file. You send us your documents online or by WhatsApp; there is nothing to log into.
What the FTA expects from a manufacturing business
Most manufacturers we meet are not worried about the big rules. They get caught on the daily detail. These are the points that matter under the UAE VAT law (Federal Decree-Law No. 8 of 2017) and the Corporate Tax law (Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022).
Import VAT and the reverse charge
Raw material and machinery that arrive from abroad carry import VAT, either paid at customs or accounted for on your own VAT return under the reverse charge. The mistake we see most often is a customs document filed in a folder and never booked, so the input VAT is never reclaimed. If you buy services from overseas suppliers, such as design software or foreign engineering support, the reverse charge applies there too. Both sides of the entry belong on the same return.
Stock and work-in-progress records
Your books should show what you bought, what is still raw, what is half-made and what is finished. When stock on the shelf does not match stock in the ledger, two things go wrong. Your profit is misstated, which flows straight into Corporate Tax, and your VAT return may claim input tax on goods you cannot show. Keep a simple stock count each month and send it to us with the other documents.
Zero-rated exports with evidence
Goods you export outside the UAE can be zero-rated, but only if you can prove the goods left. That means the commercial invoice, the customs export declaration and the shipping or transport document, kept together for every shipment. If the proof is missing, the FTA can treat the sale as a local one and ask for the VAT. Our post on VAT on exports outside the UAE explains the rule in more detail.
Designated zones and goods movements
If your plant or warehouse sits in a free zone, the VAT treatment depends on whether the zone is a designated zone for VAT and how the goods move. Goods that go from a designated zone to the mainland, or the other way, are treated differently from goods that stay inside. Being in a free zone does not remove your VAT duties by itself. We cover the common myth in designated free zone VAT relief.
Record-keeping
Both the VAT law and the Corporate Tax law require you to keep your tax records for a set number of years, and a manufacturer produces more paper than most: purchase orders, delivery notes, customs entries, production and stock sheets. The penalty exposure for missing records is set out in our guide to Corporate Tax record-keeping penalties. The simplest protection is a monthly habit of sending everything to us, so it is scanned, named and filed.

Manufacturing tax consultants and accountants: which package fits your factory?
Transaction volume decides the package, and a transaction here means a line item on a purchase, sale, expense or bank movement that needs to be booked. Raw material buying, payroll runs, freight bills, utility bills, customer receipts and bank charges all count. These are typical shapes, not promises; we confirm the band after seeing a month of your documents.
| Typical business | Transactions a month | Package |
|---|---|---|
| Small workshop or single-product maker with a few customers | Low volume | Fixed price, quoted by volume |
| Light manufacturer with regular suppliers, a stock room and a mix of local and export sales | 150 to 180 | Fixed price, quoted by volume (VAT, Corporate Tax and books) |
| Established plant with many suppliers, customers and shipments | 250 to 300 | Fixed price, quoted by volume |
| Multi-site or very high volume, or two or three related companies | Above 300, or multiple entities | Fixed quote on request |
What this costs
Our prices are fixed and quoted in dirhams, with VAT and Corporate Tax filings, books and audit assistance included in the package:
- One fixed price, set by your monthly transaction volume and agreed before we start.
- Two or three related companies: a fixed quote on request.
- Corporate Tax filing for sales under AED 3M: a fixed fee, quote on request.
There are no hourly top-ups when your auditor, bank or the FTA asks a question. That is the point of a fixed fee.
Manufacturing bookkeeping in Dubai: why owners pick a fixed-price firm
A factory owner already runs on fixed costs and thin margins. An hourly accountant turns tax into the one cost you cannot predict: the more a month goes wrong, the more the bill grows. A fixed price flips that, because we have every reason to get your books right the first time. If you are comparing firms, what to look for in an outsourced accounting firm is a useful checklist.
Our team is CA-led, we have served 572+ UAE businesses over 18+ years, and our record is zero FTA penalties on our watch. Reminders go out automatically before every cut-off: accounting data by the 5th of the following month, VAT data by the 15th of the month after the VAT period closes.
Zero Penalty Assurance, in writing: where your data reaches us by the agreed cut-off dates, we assure that no FTA penalty will arise from late or incorrect filing, and if a penalty arises from a mistake in our submission, we bear that fine.

Frequently asked questions
What do manufacturing tax consultants do that a normal accountant does not?
A manufacturing tax consultant looks at the parts of the VAT and Corporate Tax rules that only factories face: import VAT and reverse charge on raw material, stock and work-in-progress valuation, zero-rated exports and their evidence, and goods moving through designated zones. We cover these inside the same fixed package as your books.
How much does accounting for manufacturing companies in the UAE cost?
One fixed price, agreed in advance and set by your monthly transaction volume, with Zero Penalty Assurance in writing. Send us your approximate monthly transaction count and we reply with the price.
Do I charge VAT when I export goods made in the UAE?
Exports of goods outside the UAE can be zero-rated, but you need proof that the goods left the country, such as the commercial invoice, the customs export declaration and the transport document. Without it, the FTA can treat the sale as a local supply.
Can you handle manufacturing bookkeeping in Dubai if my plant is in a free zone?
Yes. We work with free-zone and mainland manufacturers across the UAE and can visit your site. The VAT treatment depends on whether your zone is a designated zone and how goods move, and we set that up before the first return.
What happens if my data reaches you late?
Zero Penalty Assurance applies where your data reaches us by the agreed cut-off dates. The assurance is tied to the cut-offs, which is why automatic reminders go out before each one.
