When is my UAE corporate tax return due?
Your return must be filed and any tax paid within nine months from the end of the relevant tax period. For example, a business with a financial year ending 31 December 2025, the filing deadline is 30 September 2026.
A statutory rate of 9% applies to taxable income above AED 375,000, and nil below that amount. A Qualifying Free Zone Person can still enjoy 0% on its qualifying income, provided the conditions are met.
Yes. Once you hold a corporate tax registration, the law requires you to file one tax return for each tax period — even where no tax is due. Skipping a return triggers penalties regardless of your profit.
If your revenue is AED 3 million or less, you can elect for Small Business Relief and be treated as having no taxable income for that period. This relief is available until December 2026 and does not require audited financial statements — though you must still keep proper records.
Late filing attracts penalties starting at AED 500 per month for the first 12 months, increasing to AED 1,000 per month thereafter, while late payment now carries a penalty of 14% per annum. Filing on time — even a nil return — avoids this entirely.
