Does my company need an audit under UAE corporate tax?
Audited financial statements are mandatory for any taxable person with annual revenue exceeding AED 50 million, and for every Qualifying Free Zone Person. From tax periods beginning on or after 1 January 2025, all tax groups must also prepare audited statements, and many free zones require one regardless of size. Audit reports are not generally mandatory for cases other than above.
Not under corporate tax law — a taxable person below AED 50 million isn’t required to have audited statements for tax purposes, unless it’s a QFZP or part of a tax group. However, free zone authorities may still require an audit under their own rules.
Your financial statements present your company’s results; a statutory audit is an independent licensed auditor’s opinion on them. The audit confirms the statements are free from material errors, misstatements or fraud, giving the FTA, lenders and investors confidence in your numbers.
Your statements must be audited by an authorized and approved UAE-licensed auditor and prepared under IFRS. We prepare audit-ready working papers and liaise directly with the auditor so the process runs smoothly.
Keep complete, reconciled books throughout the year, retain all invoices and contracts, and document related-party transactions and key estimates. We review your records in advance so audit findings and delays are kept to a minimum.
